1. IT IS THE LORD WHO GIVES US CHILDREN

    Psalms 127: READ FULL PSALM

In this Psalm we see that God gives house, security, and competent means; as well as children to enjoy them with.

Children are a heritage from the Lord; they are not a mere result of biological reaction. Life must always come from God, and therefore children are from the Lord.

A heritage is a gift of grace that is ready. It is so with children: they are already in God’s mind, and they are His gracious gifts to you.

    • Jer 1:5 – Before I formed you in the womb I knew you;
      Before you were born I sanctified you;
I ordained you a prophet to the nations

Here we see that Jeremiah was in the mind of God even before he was formed in his mother’s womb.

      • Gen 17:5 – No longer shall your name be called Abram, but your name shall be Abraham; for I have made you a father of many nations.

In the heart and plan of God, He already has many babies who are yet to come into the world. This is why God named Abraham the Father of many even before he had a single child. So, God has many children, and He wants to send them to the earth. When a man and wife come together, He blesses their marriage and gives them children. He has prophets, poets, and champions all ready. But He is looking for a couple who believe in Him for children.”

      1. WILL GOD GIVE CHILDREN TO SOME & NOT TO SOME?

Gen 1:28 – Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.

God blessed Adam and Eve saying – “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth”. He wants you to have as many children as you want and believe Him for them.

Mal 2:15 – But did He not make them one,
Having a remnant of the Spirit?
      And why one?
      He seeks godly offspring…

God says that the purpose of marriage is to bear godly offspring. The moment you get married, you begin a new family—so now expand it.”

Takeaway: Don’t postpone bearing children saying you need time to understand each other, clear your loans, or achieve your dreams —or whatever!

Some people in ministry say that God didn’t give them children because they would be a distraction. However, that is not true; instead, the following takes place when God gives you children:

        1. RACHEL’S STORY

In Genesis 30 we read how Leah had a revelation of Yahweh and prayed to him for children, whereas Rachel did not completely trust in YAHWEH, relying instead on her father’s idols and superstitions.

Gen 30:14-16 – In this passage we see that Rachel trusted in the superstition of mandrakes – a beet like root believed to possess the property of aiding conception and did not trust God for children

Gen 30:17 – And God listened to Leah, and she conceived and bore Jacob a fifth son.

Leah chose to pray to God instead of superstitions. God hearkened to her and gave her a child

Gen 30:22-24 – Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.

And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.”

So she called his name Joseph, and said, “The Lord shall add to me another son.

Finally, Rachel turns to the LORD. The Scripture says, “Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb.” So, finally she prayed, and God heard her and gave her a child. She named him Joseph; Yoseph in Hebrew means “May the Lord add another son.” Later, God gave her Benjamin. It seems as though God was waiting for her to receive His blessing of children.

        1. ENCOURAGING TRUTHS TO BEAR CHILDREN

1.TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL YOUR HEART

Heb 11:11 – By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.

2.GET YOUR MARRIAGE & YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER

Isa 54:1-3 – In this passage we learn to: Enjoy each other. Also we need to ask ourselves if our house baby-safe? Are we treating each other in love and respect?

-> A minister of God who was involved in a lot of charity work asked God why he still didn’t have children. God convicted the Pastor for ill-treating his wife. God said, “Treat her like a princess.” The pastor started treating his wife very well, and they received a miracle—God blessed them with a child!

3.PRAY ACCORDING TO THE PURPOSES OF GOD

Let us pray like Hannah in 1 Sam 1:11 –  Then she made a vow and said, “O Lord of hosts, if You will indeed look on the affliction of Your maidservant and remember me, and not forget Your maidservant, but will give Your maidservant a male child, then I will give him to the Lord all the days of his life, and no razor shall come upon his head.

         4.MEDITATE ON HIS PROMISES

Exo 23:26, Ps 113:9, Heb 11:11 – Here are some precious promises to hold onto while believing God for children

->Miracle story of Bro. Reuben and Sis. Smirna

During infertility treatment, a semen analysis showed the husband was normal, but the wife’s fallopian tubes were very narrow. Sister Smirna wrote about having two children, and then hid that writing in the wardrobe. In the third year, she developed rheumatoid arthritis. Because there is no cure and the medicine affects a child, doctors advised them to wait, leaving grim chances for conception. However, by the fifth year, they decided to try for a baby despite the medication, praying, ‘In all this, Lord, Your name should be glorified.’ They placed Scriptures promises all over the house. One day, her period was late, and pregnancy was confirmed. Ruana was born on December 15, 2017-six years after their marriage.

Six years later, one morning while watching a sermon on 2 Kings 4:16 (‘Next year by this time you shall have a son’) Bro.Reuben received it by faith. Sister Smirna conceived two months later. At six months pregnant, they received heartbreaking news: the baby tested positive for Down’s syndrome. It was due to a chromosomal defect. Confident in God, Sister Smirna declared, ‘There’s a champion in me.’ The following Sunday, the pastor preached that God was reversing chromosomal defects. The next week, the medical report changed, and Evan was born on April 15, 2024.”
