After Abimelech gave cattle, men servants and maidservants to Abraham, he addresses Sarah directly saying “I am giving your brother 1000 shekels of silver. This is to cover the offence against you before all who are with you; you are completely vindicated” (Gen 20:16).
Here’s another blessing of the righteous: God will vindicate your honour wherever you are put to shame.
I can imagine how the many people in the King’s court and everyone who heard of Sarah may have slandered her and bad-mouthed saying how she left her husband for the king. It must have been very hurting and shameful to Sarah but God cared for her so much that He made it a point for her honour to be vindicated publicly.
Beloved, when you cry out to God, because you are made righteous in Christ Jesus, God will not only deliver you but also bring you out with honour. Remember, the God who delivered Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego and promoted them is your vindicator and He will make your righteousness to shine like the noon and vindicate your dignity and give you double the honour for your shame. Amen?
God bless you!
