The Scripture says Abraham believed in God and it was credited to him for righteousness (Gen 15:6). One of the greatest insights into how God blesses the righteous can be seen in the life of Abraham.

In Gen 20, we read about how Abraham and Sarah make a journey into the land of the philistines and because of the fact that Sarah was very beautiful, Abraham lied that she was his sister.

Now Sarah was nearly 90 years old but she was so beautiful that her husband thought they will kill him to get to her! God had renewed her youth so much that heathen kings, who can have any pretty lady in the kingdom, were mesmerized by her beauty and wanted her in their harem.

Here’s a blessing when you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus – your spouse and your loved ones are blessed. Your family members are the first beneficiaries of the fact that you are righteous. Ps 128 says of a blessed man, his wife shall be a fruitful vine and his children will be olive plants around the table. Because you are righteous your family is blessed. Amen?
